Be A Modern Leader: Greg Blatt’s Advice On Becoming A Professional Thinker

Greg Blatt is a professional speaker who has given thousands of speeches on leadership, business, and personal growth. He is a former Harvard Business School student who, after his graduation in 1988, founded his own company to help other organizations excel. As a seasoned entrepreneur himself and having been trained as an expert in leadership, he has quite the perspective on the subject.

Greg Blatt: Leaders don’t need to be brilliant or even very good; they need to be better than average. The best leaders improve their performance over time by constantly learning from others and enhancing their abilities. A leader’s job is not about being right all the time; it’s about helping people find their way.

Blatt is a graduate of Yale University and Harvard Law School. Between 1998 and 2000, Greg worked at Yahoo! Inc., first as Senior Director of Strategic Planning and later as General Counsel of its Americas division. He rejoined O’Melveny & Myers in 2000, becoming a partner in 2003.

In 2004, he joined IAC/InterActiveCorp (now known as Match Group) as General Counsel for its IAC Search & Media division (including Vimeo). He became General Counsel at IAC/InterActiveCorp in 2008 and Executive Vice President, Corporate Development & Strategy in 2010. He was named CEO of Match Group in August 2014.

In 2015, Blatt received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Consumer Technologies. In 2017, “Fortune” magazine included him on its list of the 50 most influential people in technology.

Greg Blatt: We all have goals in our lives. Whether it’s to get a promotion at work or to run a marathon, they’re all-important goals that we work towards every day. We all have goals we work towards every day, whether running a marathon or achieving professional success. Modern leadership and management theories suggest that this is one of the most critical aspects of leading a successful life. See related link for additional information.
